The museum is home to a variety of objects, photographs, archives and displays, including items from local history and a unique collection of historic communications equipment.
You can explore original typewriters, old telephones, militaria, domestic life (think for a moment about the woman who made bread in that beautiful bowl), play the old organ once a local church’s treasure, sing along to ‘Its a long way to Tipperary’ when we have the old phonograph playing… Our tiny ‘ farmyard’ houses many old farming implements. The Hamshack with resident model Jack will take all those ‘hams’ back in time. And in time we hope to have it working again…
The heritage kitchen is complete and functioning and occupies the space it did in the days when our museum was also the postmaster’s house.
Do you love shoes? We have an amazing collection of historic and beautiful shoes.
